Mission Statement

The mission of the Chardon Middle School library media center is to support the overall school mission and to help all students achieve their maximum potential by:
  • Fostering a love of reading
  • Promoting information literacy skills, including the ability to effectively identify, locate, critically evaluate, and use information
  • Creating a 21st century learning environment by promoting the effective, responsible, and ethical use of information, web, and communication technologies

Mr. Corfman
This is Mr. C's sixth year as the co-media specialist at CMS and second as the 7th grade computer/tech teacher. He has also coached both boys and girls basketball. Mr. C normally reads sci/fi, fantasy, and history. He recently started reading (for the first time ever, believe it or not) the Harry Potter series. He has two daughters and a son who are a little young to read much sci/fi, fantasy, or history...yet.

Mrs. Pinckard
Mrs. Pinckard joined Team CMS Media last year as co-media specialist and 6th grade computer/tech teacher. She taught language arts at CMS for an undisclosed number of years prior to that. Mrs. P has one daughter at the middle school and one at the high school.

Mrs. LaCasse
Mrs. LaCasse is in her third year as CMS's media secretary. She has two daughters attending Chardon High School. She also happens to be just about the most helpful person in the universe if you need help with just about anything school-related.
